Welcome to Whizzkidz Academy a school where we are committed to delivering an excellent standard of education. Whizzkidz Academy has been developed with the future of young students in mind. We love creating unique experiences where students not only learn, but can apply their skills in the real world. We believe that students should be provided with a holistic approach of teaching, with specialized individual education and personalised care. With the continued support of our parents we have embarked on opening Whizzkidz Academy as of January 2017 with our FIRST CLASS OF GRADE ONE, and over the next few years, grow the school up to Grade 7.
Our aim at Whizzkidz Academy is to nurture and guide our learners towards developing a positive and independent attitude towards learning by creating a relaxed atmosphere fostering intellectual curiosity in each child. In this way we hope to instil in each child the self-belief and confidence to embrace formal education.
A great deal of emphasis will be placed on motivating and encouraging our students to be independent and confident leaders of the future.

IMPAQ CAPS CURRICULUM & SYLLABUS
Our syllabus is geared to deliver academic excellence and follows the national CAPS curriculum from the IMPAQ programme supplemented by a unique whole child development support. Our learner’s materials are designed and published by IMPAQ which are built on an established learner centred curriculum that is used by over 13000 learners across the country.
It is important that in THE FORMATIVE YEARS OF A CHILD`S EDUCATION, they build the necessary foundation skills needed or learning. Our syllabus will be a CAPS Aligned Curriculum, comprising of the following areas of learning that will be covered in Foundation Phase.
- Literacy (English & Afrikaans)
- Numeracy (Mathematics)
- Life-Skills
IMPAQ
IMPAK will be the Curriculum Service Provider providing all the necessary workbooks, portfolio, assessments and tests & examinations’ (which are CAPS aligned) from Grade 4 – 7.
Our Teacher will be conducting the monthly assessments, by which parents will be able to view the progress made, as you will have your own access to the IMPAQ Portal, once you have registered the learner with IMPAQ.
As a Private Institute, we will be conducting the services of teaching the IMPAQ Curriculum; however each parent will have to carry out the following procedure outlined below for successful registration:
- Fill in the home schooling application form which can be obtained from our school and hand delivered to the Department of Education.
- Register with IMPAQ via the website (for existing learners) and for the new parents joining our Academy, the school will give you a manual IMPAQ registration form and will assist you in filling the requirements of the form.3.
3. The School will submit the IMPAQ form on your behalf to be processed, whereby you will receive a confirmation via SMS on approval of the application.
- A quotation is then emailed to the parent as the account holder. You will be given your very own password to access the impaq site to monitor your account.
- The fee for the year’s programme payable to IMPAQ is as follows:
Grade 1: R 3 948
Grade 2: R4 076
Grade 3: R3 948
Once a learner is registered the above amount may be paid as a once of payment whereby a 10% discount will be given if paid before the year end or a 25% deposit must be paid immediately so that all the necessary curriculum workbooks will be sent to the school so that teaching can be conducted. The balance can be paid monthly over a 10 month structure.
- As our learners who have graduated from our Pre-School with an excellent level of prestigious learning achieved, we will be supplementing the Grade 1, 2 & 3 CAPS Curriculum from IMPAQ, with extra workbooks that will aid the syllabus thus allowing our learners further enhancement throughout their education. This fee will be given before the end of the year payable to the school.
REGISTRATION
A once off registration fee of R500 is charged, which secures your child a seat at the school. NB. This is a non-refundable deposit.
A re-registration fee of R250 will be charged yearly until termination of tuition.
FEE STRUCTURE
Whizzkid Academy Monthly fee structure
Half Day and Full Day fees are calculated from the time of enrolment to December, and worked out where the final payment for the year will be in November. Hence your December fee has been worked into your monthly payment.
Half Day fees
Eg. The fees are R1430 per month. Therefore the fees are as follows:
R1430 x 12 months = R17 160 for the year
R17 160/11 months = R1560 from January to November
Full Day fees
Eg. The fees are R1870 per month. Therefore the fees are as follows:
R1870 x 12 months = R22 440 for the year
R22 440/11 months = R2 040 from January to November
The fee includes breakfast, lunch, a teatime snack and aftercare.

WHIZZKIDZ ACADEMY PAYMENT
- All fees must be paid between the 1st and 7th of every month for that particular month.
- Ismail & Dahya Attorneys are in charge of the collection of outstanding school fees. Failure to pay on the stipulated times will result in a 10% late payment penalty being charged.
- A one month’s written notice must be given to the school if you take your child out for whatever reason. You will be held liable for those months, whether your child attends or not.
- No cash is collected at the school for safety reasons unless prior arrangements have been made. All fees must be paid either through electronic transfer or debit order into our school banking account, with the child’s name as reference.

OFFICIAL TIMES
We offer both Half Day & Full Day options:
Half Day: Mon – Thurs: 8am – 1.30pm Friday: 8 am – 12.00pm
- We follow the government school calendar and close during school holidays.
- No meals are provided for the half day. A prepared lunch box must be sent in.
Although we follow the government school calendar, we are closed during the holidays for each term for our Half Day Learners. We are open for our full day parents during the school holidays if required and only close for the December holidays by the 15th of December. We re-open for school in the New Year according to the Schooling Calendar.

LUNCH BREAK
The lunch break and playtime is under the supervision of the child’s teacher. Parents must please supply their child with their own healthy lunch box for their mid-morning break at 10am, for both Half Day and Full Day learners. The teachers will see that the food is stored until snack time.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
- Compulsory P.E activity: R40 a month (R480 for the year) this fee will be collected as a once off payment or as 2 payments (R240 end of Jan & R240 end of February)
- Speech & Drama : R90 registration (Once of fee), R90 a month. (Payable directly to the Drama teacher

Please label each individual item of stationery and send to school. This stationery will be used in class for the whole year.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
The school has a compulsory uniform which consists of the following:

The uniform can be purchased from Essays in Benoni Town. The school Jersey and pinafore will have our School logo printed on it.

ENTERTAINMENT & EVENT PACKAGE
We have put together a very “Fun Filled yet Educational” Programme to accommodate all learners partaking in all events, shows & excursions for the year. A once of non-refundable fee will be payable to the school. The fee for the yearly event package will be given to you in the New Year & Is payable to the school upon enrolment in cash. This Entertainment & event package includes the following: Puppet shows, excursions, and Fun days at school each with a magic & clown show, jumping castles etc. as well as entertainment from Clamber Club entertainers.
COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS VIA SMS & NEWSLETTERS
In an effort to keep you informed of all the happenings at the school, new themes, events, activities, outings, etc., our most effective means of communication with you is our newsletter which we try to send on a bi-weekly basis via email or sometimes manually.
Each child will be given a home work & contact book which will be a means of communication to the parent too. Urgent newsletters are sometimes sent home without any notice, so please keep a look out for these.
We communicate with parents through an SMS system; you will be required on admission to nominate one cell no, whereby notifications will be sent from the school directly to you.
CALLS & QUERIES
Please reserve all calls during teaching hours (8am – 1:30pm) unless in an emergency, as this distracts lessons. All queries will be dealt with during your child’s break. You may contact your child’s respective teacher from 10am – 10.30am.
EMERGENCY & SECURITY FACILITIES
- All our teachers are First Aid trained
- We have a 24hour armed response

- CCTV Cameras in all classes and outdoor premises.
