Whizzkid Pre-primary School | Prospectus 2019

_________
Background | Whizzkidz Academy Pre-primary School
Whizzkid Montessori began over 22 years ago in a little log cabin, with 10 kids. Over the years we have grown in leaps and bounds, and are now the foremost early childhood development institute in the Mackenzie Park area, and after 22 very successful years we are now becoming one of the most sought-after pre-primary schools in the area.
Our curriculum, although Montessori based, is not restricted to the Montessori Method, wherein we combine certain aspects of the national curriculum method as well and other proven learning methods to give our learners a complete and well-rounded education.
The Montessori Method of teaching focuses on an individualised method of teaching, aided by numerous specialised equipment. Although we encourage freedom of development, it is done in a structural manner.
Our main aim is to ensure that your child is school ready by the time he/she graduates from the school, in all aspects; from their physical and social requirements to their psychological and emotional needs, which are all brought together in a well prepared environment.
The dedicated staffs at Whizzkid Montessori create an atmosphere conclusive to learning and developing, by creating a happy yet disciplined, free yet guided, and fun yet structured environment, to bring the best in your child.
Although we prescribe a minimum of two years, an even earlier start will ensure a more solid foundation. If your child has spent sufficient time at our learning centre, we guarantee that your child will be able to read, write and do basic mathematics by the time he/she graduates. This has also helped gain recognition in all main stream schools, where learners from our preschool often feature in the top ten percentile of their grade, proving once again that we have a winning recipe for success.
You as a parent remain the main educator of your child. Together with us as teachers, we can form a partnership wherein your child can develop. To achieve this, you as the parent must be involved with your child and be interested in his/her joys and sorrows. We as the school will support you and help you turn your child into a Whizzkid.

Communication to Parents via SMS & Newsletters.
In an effort to keep you informed of all the happenings at the school, new themes, events, activities, outings, etc, our most effective means of communication with you is our newsletter which we try to send on a bi-weekly basis via email as this is the best means of communication from the school hence valid email addresses will have to be provided by the parents so you may receive all communications. An invoice and statement of account will also be sent out monthly via email.
Although communication will be sent most of the time by email, we request the parent to check their bags daily for any urgent letter that may have been sent home manually.
We communicate with parents through an SMS system, you will be required on admission to nominate one cell no, whereby notifications will be sent from the school directly to you.
Progress meetings and feedback to parents
At Whizzkids we establish a sound parent/teacher relationship ensuring that feedback on our learner’s progress is given to parents on a timely basis. We will be hosting two progress meetings in June and in November for the year in the evenings whereby parents attend, receiving not only a progress report but an in-detail assessment of your child.
Calls & Queries
Please reserve all calls during teaching hours (8am – 12pm) unless in an emergency, as this distracts lessons. All queries will be dealt with during your child’s break. You may contact your child’s respective teacher during lunch break.
Conclusion
- All out teachers are First Aid trained
